Asia-Pacific Thermoformed Food Packaging Demand Surges on Delivery Economy

　　The rapid growth of the food delivery and ready-meal economy is driving strong demand for thermoformed food packaging across the Asia-Pacific region. According to industry data, the region's thermoformed food container market reached USD 8.4 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow at an annual rate of 7.5% over the next five years.

　　China remains the largest single market, supported by the world's biggest online food delivery industry and the fast expansion of prepared meal brands. Meal-box orders have risen significantly, creating sustained demand for leak-proof and heat-resistant containers. Southeast Asian countries are also emerging as important growth markets, as urbanization and the spread of delivery platforms change local eating habits.

　　The demand structure is shifting toward higher value-added products. Multi-compartment trays, high-barrier containers for cold-chain meals and PLA biodegradable boxes are growing faster than ordinary packaging. Export-oriented suppliers with stable quality and short lead times are winning an increasing share of orders from international food chains entering the region.
